PSU Community Celebration

It's a Celebration! Penn State's oldest living alumnus, Ray Walker, is turning 105 on March 13th and there's a movement to send him 105 birthday cards to mark the occasion. We're throwing a party not only to make cards for Mr. Walker, but to celebrate a man who has given so much of himself to both Penn State and his local community. For those who are not familiar with Mr. Walker, he is a businessman, entrepreneur, supporter of education, philanthropist, and a pretty funny guy!

To get a better picture of our favorite centenarian, who got a speeding ticket at the age of 100, check out this video clip: http://www.wearecentralpa.com/news/meet-104-year-old-ray-walker/514175544

Our goal is to bring together our local PSU community, while being a part of something bigger. This is a great chance for us to get to know one another beyond our PSU connection while having a little fun, spreading good cheer, and eating some cake! Alumni and friends of all ages are welcome at this family-friendly event. PSU parents and students home on break, that includes you!

When: Sunday, March 5 - 2:30-4:30pm
Cost: FREE for students & kids; $5/member; $10/non-member
All card materials will be provided and cake and soft-drinks are included. Our exclusive PSU Black Bear menu will be available throughout the event if you wish to purchase additional food & beverage.

We would also like to make a group donation to The Ray S. Walker Society of Distinguished Alumni Trustee Scholarship for the Schreyer Honors College. Mr. Walker donated $101,000 on his 101st birthday...maybe our chapter can donate $105 for his 105th!

We hope you can join the party!
