Recruiting

We are heavily engaged in recruiting local high school students to apply to Penn State. This is a year-long activity, from college fairs in the Fall to student offer events in the spring, to a freshman sendoff in the summer!

The Alumni Admissions Committee is a standing committee of the CT Valley Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association and consists of volunteers who assist the University in recruitment efforts in our locality. Generally, we represent the university at local college fairs and contact newly accepted students to provide a "personal touch" as encouragement for high school students to attend Penn State. In addition to college recruitment efforts, we host a Freshman Sendoff party for newly accepted freshmen from our area where we provide general information about Penn State to parents and students as well as an opportunity for students to meet other students and alumni from the area.
If you would like to become an Alumni Admissions Volunteer or learn more about this committee, please contact Lisa Sands at sands151@yahoo.com or visit our official website at https://admissions.psu.edu/volunteers

Freshman Sendoff
The annual freshman sendoff is usually held the second Sunday in August for incoming PSU students from our region. More information about this will be posted closer to the event.
